Senior Accountant – Statutory

About the role

Itron’s Global Business Centre in Cork is looking for a Senior Accountant to own statutory financial reporting for one or more EMEA entities. You will bridge US GAAP and local GAAP, ensure compliance, and support audit and tax activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare timely local statutory financial statements.
• Document and reconcile US GAAP to local GAAP for statutory reporting.
• Maintain compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Interface with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns and tax provision calculations.
• Manage local chart of accounts where applicable.
• Oversee month‑end close, posting, and analysis of P&L and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Support SOX compliance and internal/external audits.
• Deliver monthly and quarterly fluctuation analysis for Corporate HQ.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives and ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• 3–7 years of statutory financial reporting experience, preferably with French statutory reporting.
• Experience in a multinational environment or audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system.
