Senior Backend Engineer – Remote (EU/UK)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a newly formed squad of a forward‑thinking social engagement platform. The role is fully remote for candidates located in the EU or the UK and focuses on building and scaling the revenue‑generating components of the product.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement safe, compliant backend systems that can scale with a rapidly growing global user base.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and mobile teams to deliver revenue‑related features such as billing and subscriptions.
• Maintain high engineering standards and drive cross‑functional technical excellence.
• Support a globally distributed remote engineering team and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven mid‑to‑senior level experience developing backend systems, preferably with a full‑stack background.
• Experience building backend services for mobile applications (iOS and Android) used by large monthly user bases.
• Self‑starter who can thrive in a remote, distributed environment.
• Background at a technology‑focused company with a strong engineering culture.
