Senior Cloud Engineer - SysAdmin

About the role

Join Cisco's Cloud and Data Center Engineering team as a Senior Cloud Engineer – SysAdmin. You will design, develop, and operate compute and storage solutions across cloud and data‑center environments, ensuring they meet Cisco’s security standards and performance goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimize compute and storage architectures (NAS/SAN) in cloud and data‑center settings.
• Automate server provisioning, lifecycle management, and performance tuning.
• Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware and OpenStack, including VM migrations and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code, configuration‑management, and automation scripts.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems for compute, storage and data‑center health.
• Plan and execute migration projects for data‑center relocation or consolidation.
• Collaborate with network, security, application and operations teams following ITIL change and incident processes.
• Document runbooks, SOPs and migration procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field plus 3 + years of systems administration/infrastructure operations experience, or Master’s degree plus 2 + years.
• Hands‑on experience with compute and storage design, server automation, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with ITIL and agile delivery methodologies.
