Senior Corporate Counsel – Privacy

About the role

AMD is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to lead its European privacy program. Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel – Privacy, you will act as the primary legal advisor on GDPR, ePrivacy and related data‑protection matters across the company’s products, services and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on European privacy requirements, including GDPR, ePrivacy and Member State laws.
• Serve as the main point of contact for European privacy issues, delivering pragmatic guidance to business teams.
• Advise on privacy‑by‑design and privacy‑by‑default for products, AI‑enabled technologies and internal initiatives.
• Support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and privacy risk assessments.
• Draft, review and maintain privacy policies, internal guidance, procedures and training materials for Europe.
• Collaborate with information security and incident response teams on data‑incident preparedness, breach assessment and notification obligations.

Required profile

• In‑house legal experience at a fast‑paced global technology company.
• Proven track record of building and scaling a privacy program across European operations.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR and other European privacy frameworks.
• Experience advising on cross‑border data transfers and international data governance.
• Familiarity with U.S. privacy concepts and ability to coordinate with U.S. legal teams.
• Strong drafting, communication and collaboration skills, with a pragmatic, risk‑based approach.
