Senior Cyber Defence Analyst – SOC Escalations & Threat Hunting

About the role

Dunnes Stores is expanding its Cyber Defence function and seeks a Senior Cyber Defence Analyst to act as the primary escalation point within the Security Operations Centre (SOC). Based in the Dublin head‑office, you will lead complex investigations, enhance detection capabilities and drive vulnerability management across a fast‑moving retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate advanced incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Design, test and validate detection use cases for the SIEM platform.
• Plan and execute threat‑hunting missions using retail‑focused intelligence.
• Own enterprise vulnerability management and improve attack‑surface coverage.
• Oversee external attack‑surface monitoring and remediation.
• Conduct cloud security posture reviews and support purple‑team testing.
• Mentor junior analysts and provide leadership cover when required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in a SOC or incident‑response environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact.
• Hands‑on experience in incident response, forensic investigation and threat hunting.
• Familiarity with industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST and PCI DSS.
