Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations Management

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Director to lead Manufacturing Operations Management across multiple value streams. This senior leader will be responsible for ensuring product quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and cost performance while supporting new product introductions and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production operations to consistently meet quality, regulatory, safety, environmental, and customer service requirements.
• Develop and execute production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity planning.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle‑time reduction, cost optimization, and process efficiency.
• Coach, develop, and engage a high‑performing workforce, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
• Participate in technical and management meetings to resolve production and process challenges.
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
• Maintain strong cross‑functional collaboration and open communication with all departments.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Good Practice (GxP) regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably within medical device, pharmaceutical, or eye‑care environments.
• Proven track record of aligning manufacturing performance with business objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams and drive cultural change.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost structures.

Required skills

• Management of Molding, Environmentally Controlled Area (ECA), Sterilization, and Finishing Operations.
• Deep knowledge of Good Practice (GxP) regulatory requirements.
• Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
• Budget planning and financial performance management.
