Senior Engineer – Construction & Infrastructure

About the role

John Sisk & Son is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the engineering function on construction projects. You will act as the senior engineering representative, set engineering strategy, and ensure high‑quality delivery across all disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team (Engineers and Assistant Engineers) and coordinate with the Line Manager.
• Develop and control dimensional and setting‑out strategies, converting global grids to local formats.
• Oversee survey equipment management, as‑built surveys, and maintain a daily engineering diary.
• Apply quality control across major packages, create and review Inspection & Test Plans, and manage the Sisk Non‑Conformance procedure.
• Issue and manage “Permits to Break Ground”, review method statements, risk assessments, and handle the RFI process.
• Coordinate Temporary Works and support lifting operations in line with company procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level qualification in Civil Engineering (Bachelor or equivalent).
• Significant experience in design management and infrastructure disciplines such as piling, geotechnical works, substructures, waterproofing, concrete, drainage, steelwork and brickwork.
• Strong understanding of underground services risks and associated control measures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
