Senior Finance Executive - Ireland

About the role

The Senior Finance Executive is the primary operational owner of the Ireland accounts function, ensuring that every transaction recorded by the bookkeeping team is accurate, evidence-based and audit-ready. The role combines hands-on financial oversight, controls co-design, management reporting and systems coordination, and reports to the Finance Lead - Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure vouchers, journal entries and supporting documentation are accurate, complete and IFRS-compliant, and own the evidence trail so every entry is verifiable and audit-ready
• Produce regular management and financial reports and track operational and financial KPIs, escalating deviations promptly
• Oversee the outsourced bookkeeping team (Accounts Executives, Officers and Interns), review their output, give structured feedback and resolve problems on the ground
• Co-design financial controls covering vendor management, payment run-day procedures, reconciliation, month-end and period-end close, and document remediation steps for control gaps
• Coordinate with the software and technical team on finance system improvements and take part in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Support the Group Financial Controller as the key operational liaison, meeting documentation standards, account accuracy and reporting deadlines

Required profile

• CA finalist, ACCA or CMA qualified; strong practical experience considered alongside formal qualification
• 3-5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating a team
• Desirable: experience in money transfer, payments or a regulated financial services environment, and internal audit or financial reporting experience

Required skills

• Working knowledge of IFRS as applicable to an Irish privately held entity
• Strong IFRS knowledge: IAS-7, IAS 8, IAS 10/37, IFRS 9/15/16/18, IAS 16 and the conceptual framework
• Comfort with in-house accounting / ERP systems and structured system testing
