Senior House Officer – Immediate Start (General Medicine)

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a motivated Senior House Officer to join the General Medicine Department on an immediate start. This position is part of the July 2025 rotation and offers exposure to acute medicine, surgery, critical care and the 24/7 Emergency Department in a Model 3 teaching hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver acute medical care to adult patients across a range of specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds and handovers.
• Manage on‑call duties and respond to emergencies in the Emergency Department.
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans and discharge summaries accurately.
• Contribute to teaching activities for undergraduate medical students.

Required profile

• Active registration with the Irish Medical Council.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Eligibility for immediate start.
• Previous clinical experience in Ireland is desirable.
• Relevant experience in general medicine or acute care.
