Senior Lecturer – Digital Dentistry & Prosthodontics

About the role

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) is establishing a new School of Dentistry and seeks a Senior Lecturer to lead Digital Dentistry and Prosthodontics. The role combines teaching, clinical service, curriculum development and research in a multicultural academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of digital dentistry workflows and diagnostic technologies across all teaching sites.
• Deliver and supervise clinical and theoretical Prosthodontics education for undergraduate (Level 8) and postgraduate (Level 9/10) programmes.
• Collaborate with the Professor of Restorative Dentistry and the Head of School to develop and update curricula, ensuring alignment with clinical practice standards.
• Mentor and supervise students and junior staff in research projects, publications and academic progression.
• Contribute to the School’s research agenda, securing funding and publishing in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• Qualified and registered dentist with a strong academic record.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development at university level.
• Proven research track record in digital dentistry, prosthodontics or related fields.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
