Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑savvy Senior Legal Counsel to join the in‑house legal team of a leading purpose‑driven environmental organisation in Dublin. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will provide high‑quality legal advice across commercial, regulatory and corporate matters, supporting the organisation’s circular‑economy ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service level agreements, operational partnerships and technology procurement contracts.
• Provide practical guidance on compliance with Irish and EU legislation covering data protection, consumer law, competition and environmental regulation.
• Assist with corporate governance, board support, company secretarial duties and internal policy development.
• Support risk management, dispute resolution, regulatory engagement and, where necessary, litigation.
• Act as a trusted advisor to operational and commercial teams, ensuring legal and compliance standards are met while driving projects forward.
• Develop and improve standard contract templates, playbooks and legal processes to enable scaling.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 5 years post‑qualified experience, preferably from a top‑tier law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation abilities, able to translate complex legal concepts for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Proactive self‑starter capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and project‑management skills.
• Genuine interest in sustainability and environmental impact.
