Senior Legal Counsel – Life, Pensions & Investments

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading Irish financial institution. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will act as the primary legal partner for the Life & Pensions business, shaping strategy and ensuring compliance across new initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Advisory – Provide timely, commercial legal advice to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
• Risk Management – Identify and mitigate legal and reputational risks across the Life & Pensions portfolio.
• Commercial Negotiation – Lead drafting and negotiation of critical contracts, including investment management, custody, and agency agreements.
• Innovation Support – Offer legal oversight for new product launches and digital service enhancements.

Required profile

• Seasoned solicitor with substantial post‑qualification experience, currently in‑house within financial services or in a top‑tier regulatory/pensions practice.
• Deep knowledge of Irish (or comparable) pensions law and trust structures.
• Proven track record managing complex outsourcing arrangements and high‑value commercial contracts.
• Collaborative mindset – comfortable working independently while thriving in a team‑oriented environment.
