Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Medical Device (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to provide advanced technical and engineering support on a 12‑month contract for a global medical‑device manufacturer based in East Cork. The role focuses on process improvement, problem solving and ensuring compliance with GMP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Work with engineering leaders to deliver business objectives and develop a world‑class manufacturing group.
• Lead technical improvements using Six Sigma tools, monitor line performance and execute structured improvement plans.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions and documentation compliant with current GMP.
• Transfer and implement processes from development or other facilities and support new product and process introductions.
• Perform process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ), gauge R&R studies and structured problem‑solving.
• Manage cross‑functional projects from scoping to operational hand‑over, including budgeting and qualification.
• Provide technical guidance to Process/Maintenance Technicians and other engineers.
• Ensure training records are up‑to‑date, monitor quality metrics and enforce EHS requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a regulated environment, preferably medical devices.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement programs.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage projects through all phases.
• Excellent documentation skills and familiarity with New Product Development processes.
