Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Medical Device (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to provide advanced technical and engineering support for a global medical device manufacturer. This 12‑month onsite contract in East Cork involves leading process improvement, validation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Work with engineering leaders to deliver business objectives and develop a world‑class manufacturing group.
• Lead technical improvements using Six Sigma tools, monitor line performance and execute structured improvement plans.
• Develop and implement SOPs, work instructions and documentation compliant with GMP.
• Transfer and implement processes from development or other facilities.
• Provide technical guidance to Process/Maintenance Technicians and other engineers.
• Support new product and process introduction, ensuring compliance with New Product Development processes.
• Conduct process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and Gauge R&R studies.
• Lead structured problem‑solving and manage value‑stream and cross‑functional projects.
• Interface with cross‑functional teams and third‑party vendors, maintain training records and ensure QMS compliance.
• Monitor performance metrics, enforce EHS requirements and manage material risks with Supplier Quality Engineers.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in manufacturing engineering within the medical device sector.
• Proven ability to drive process improvement and problem‑solving using Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) and quality management systems.
• Experience with new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) projects.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional projects and work with external vendors.
