Senior Pharmacist – Haematology/Oncology (Galway University Hospitals)

About the role
This permanent, full‑time position is based at Galway University Hospitals and focuses on delivering specialist pharmacy services to haematology and oncology patients. The role supports the HSE West and North West health region and contributes to high‑quality, safe patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services to haematology and oncology patients, ensuring optimal medication therapy.
- Lead and manage medicine‑related improvement projects that enhance service delivery.
- Operate and maintain electronic patient information and prescribing systems.
- Oversee pharmaceutical aseptic services and the manufacturing of chemotherapy preparations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient safety and treatment outcomes.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in clinical pharmacy for haematology/oncology patients.
- Proven track record of managing medicine improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of electronic prescribing and patient information systems.
- Experience in pharmaceutical aseptic services and chemotherapy manufacturing.
- Eligibility to work in the Irish public health system.
