Senior Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy (12‑month contract)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Senior Pharmacist to join the pharmacy team at Galway Clinic. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position (35 hours per week) delivering clinical pharmacy services to in‑patients and out‑patients.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct clinical reviews of medication orders and dispense medicines in line with hospital policies.
• Provide medication advice to patients, healthcare professionals and medical staff.
• Participate in teaching and in‑service training for students and pharmacy staff.
• Contribute to relevant committees and ensure service users’ needs are met.
• Maintain confidentiality, punctuality and high standards of professional conduct.
• Cover weekend rota as required.
• Support the chemotherapy service, including compounding, clinical checking, dispensing, stock counting and billing.

Required profile

• BSc (Pharm) or MPharm with registration on the PSI.
• Minimum three years’ experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
• Proven clinical, leadership, managerial and customer‑care abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Flexibility in work practices.
