Senior Physiotherapist – Musculoskeletal Outpatient Department

About the role

The Mater Misericordae University Hospital is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join its Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Department. The role involves delivering high‑quality physiotherapy services to patients with orthopaedic, rheumatological and trauma‑related conditions across the main campus and the Smithfield Minor Injuries Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of MSK conditions referred by hospital consultants.
• Deliver specialised services including pain management, hydrotherapy, fracture clinic support and orthopaedic rehabilitation.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in orthopaedics, rheumatology, emergency, and occupational health.
• Serve as a practice tutor, supporting the education of junior staff and students.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to service development.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist with registration on the Irish Physiotherapy Register.
• Significant experience in musculoskeletal and trauma physiotherapy.
• Ability to work across multiple sites and manage a diverse caseload.
• Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration and teaching.
