Senior Server Administrator

About the role

Our Dublin‑based client, a well‑known brand, is seeking an experienced Senior Server Administrator to join their team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for the stability, performance, and security of their Windows server environment while working closely with IT support and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows server platforms.
• Manage patch testing, deployment, and overall patch management processes.
• Monitor system performance and ensure reliable operation using network monitoring tools.
• Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related core services.
• Perform regular backups, verify data integrity and manage recovery procedures.
• Control user accounts, permissions and access rights.
• Collaborate with support teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
• Participate in IT projects and maintain detailed system documentation.
• Identify opportunities for automation and system optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or Server Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and server infrastructure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
