Senior Virtualisation Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Virtualisation Specialist to join our Dublin 8 team on a hybrid basis. You will design, administer and maintain a large data‑centre virtual environment, ensuring stability, performance and security across both Windows and Linux platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage VMware vSphere and vCenter infrastructures, including upgrades and patch management.
• Provision LUNs, volumes, virtual machines and automate their lifecycle using PowerShell, CLI and scripting.
• Manage distributed switches, snapshots, cloning and instant‑clone operations.
• Perform capacity and performance management, and troubleshoot Windows Server (2012‑2022) and Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu) environments.
• Utilise vRealize Operations, Log Insight, Network Insight, NSX‑T, Kubernetes clusters and Omnissa Horizon for monitoring and automation.
• Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
• Support IT projects, apply security patches, hot‑fixes and service packs, and document critical tasks.
• Operate within an ITIL framework, handling incident analysis, resolution and custom reporting.

Required profile

• 7+ years of senior‑level experience in data‑centre virtualisation.
• VCP or VCAP in Datacentre Virtualisation certification.
• MCSE or equivalent Microsoft Server Administration certification.
• Proven hands‑on experience with large VMware environments and automation tools.
