Setting-Out Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Setting‑Out Engineer to join a leading main contractor in Dublin. The role involves accurate layout of groundworks and structural works using modern surveying equipment and close collaboration with design and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform setting‑out for groundworks and structural elements using GPS, total stations and automatic levels.
• Coordinate and produce site drawings.
• Liaise daily with project, design teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor and record materials, plant, and logistics on site.
• Implement QA procedures, conduct concrete pre‑ and post‑pour checks, manage RFIs and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain accurate record‑keeping and reporting.
• Support safe working practices and site safety monitoring.

Required profile

• Relevant third‑level degree.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in a similar setting‑out role.
• Previous experience with a main contractor on construction/civil engineering projects (e.g., residential, retail/commercial, pharma, data centre, hi‑tech).

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS, robotic total stations and levelling equipment.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
