Ship Agent & Import/Export Operator

About the role

As a Ship Agent & Import/Export Operator you will be trained to manage the full lifecycle of cargo shipments, from the initial booking to the consignee receiving the goods. You will gain hands‑on experience preparing Bills of Lading, handling customs clearance and supporting the operations of a major shipping line.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ship agent duties and act as the main point of contact for vessel operations.
• Create and manage bookings for import and export shipments.
• Liaise with customers regarding delivery, collection and documentation.
• Prepare customs documents and Bills of Lading.
• Ensure accurate flow of information between customers and the shipping line.
• Respond to customer queries promptly.
• Carry out ad‑hoc tasks as directed by management.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence (required).
• Resident of Rosslare/Wexford area or Sandyford, Dublin (willingness to travel to Rosslare).
• Experience in the shipping industry is a distinct advantage.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills for daily interaction with global offices and customers.
• Flexible, positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
