Site Agent – Civil Engineering Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Agent to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Ireland, including the BusConnects National Transport Programme. You will be responsible for the safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery of multiple civil and utility works while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site teams, subcontractors and project resources.
• Build strong relationships with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders.
• Review engineering drawings and implement design changes as required.
• Monitor project progress, programmes and budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) standards.
• Oversee traffic management and on‑site safety requirements.
• Coordinate material deliveries and site logistics.
• Carry out quality inspections to meet client specifications.
• Provide regular progress updates to clients and project managers.
• Mentor junior engineers and site personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Agent on civil engineering, utilities or road projects.
• Strong background delivering civils and infrastructure works.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Commercial awareness with a good understanding of project costs.
• Excellent knowledge of HSQE requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational abilities.
• Experience managing multiple site teams and subcontractors.
• Engineering qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
• Full clean driving licence.
