Site Engineer – Construction (Galway)

About the role

The construction company partnered with Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join its Galway team. You will oversee on‑site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while collaborating closely with project managers and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Site Manager, Project Manager and Contracts Manager and perform agreed duties.
• Ensure all on‑site works comply with specifications or other acceptable standards as directed.
• Accurately set out the site and structures according to the programme, avoiding delays.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy across all project aspects.
• Guarantee that work quality meets specifications and standards.
• Record and maintain comprehensive build documentation.
• Secure timely availability of resources required for proper execution of works.
• Manage and implement workplace health and safety procedures, including safety manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and legal regulations.
• Ability to solve problems and work effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different sites as needed.
