Site Engineer – Limerick (Civil Construction)

About the role

Murphy is seeking a Site Engineer to join its Natural Resources team in Limerick. You will be responsible for delivering civil engineering works across energy networks, supporting the transition to net‑zero emissions. The role involves on‑site coordination, quality assurance and close interaction with clients, designers and the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Promote best practice in health, safety and environment in partnership with the SHQE department.
• Implement accurate setting‑out methods using total stations and ensure drawings/specifications are complete.
• Request missing information promptly to keep the programme on schedule.
• Carry out quality checks and ensure inspection & test plans are completed.
• Maintain daily site diary, record variations, subcontractor attendance and client communications.
• Support material and plant requisition, temporary works design and risk assessments.
• Monitor work for unsafe conditions and enforce company policies.
• Communicate effectively with the commercial team on contractual issues.

Required profile

• Valid CSCS Card and at least 3 years of proven experience on civil engineering projects.
• Strong ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work.
• Experience with the latest surveying and CAD techniques.
• Competence in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
• Confident communication and presentation skills with clients, management and the public.
