Site Equipment Engineering Manager

About the role

The Site Equipment Engineering Manager will lead the equipment engineering and automation strategy for a manufacturing site, ensuring the delivery of current and next‑generation technologies. This senior position is responsible for capital project execution, equipment reliability, and the integration of tooling, stations, and advanced automation systems to support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for all technical equipment engineering activities, aligning with site objectives and R&D initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and designers.
• Define and deliver the site‑wide automation roadmap from concept through operational integration.
• Manage capital investment planning, project execution, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Champion continuous improvement programs to maximise equipment performance, uptime, and manufacturing yield.
• Direct the design and development of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and workstations, promoting design‑for‑manufacturability and standardisation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, GMP standards, and data integrity policies.
• Lead change initiatives and build strong relationships with Engineering, Operations, Quality, R&D, and senior leadership.

Required profile

• NFQ level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 9+ years of experience in equipment engineering, automation, or related manufacturing roles.
• Proven track record of leading large capital projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of GMP, validation, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
