Site Manager – Construction & Power Grid Projects

About the role

Turner Lovell is seeking an ambitious Site Manager to lead on‑site activities for high‑value HV and power grid projects in Ireland. You will be responsible for delivering cost‑effective execution of project deliverables while meeting contract specifications, quality standards, schedules, and safety requirements across start‑up, construction, commissioning and maintenance phases.

Key responsibilities

• Plan on‑site activities with the Project Manager, allocating resources, equipment and milestones.
• Coordinate agreements with customers and external parties on construction targets, health & safety, site organisation and policies.
• Monitor site progress from hand‑over to final customer hand‑over, ensuring successful execution of start‑up, construction, erection, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date Health & Safety plan for each work package and empower suspension of work in case of OHS violations.
• Oversee material handling, storage, installation and logistics to guarantee timely delivery of equipment and materials.
• Manage sub‑contractors to achieve required quality, progress and delivery dates.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrician or equivalent technical qualification.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Project.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Foreman/Chargehand role on construction or energy projects.
• Excellent communication and customer‑relation skills, with proven negotiation ability.
• Capability to assess, propose and implement solutions for troubled or challenging project situations.
