Software Engineer - Application Development

About the role

Join Cisco's Webex Engineering Group to design and build end‑user features that reach millions worldwide. You will lead technical design, implementation, and quality assurance for collaborative applications across devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and technically lead new features for Webex products.
• Translate product requirements into clear technical designs and executable tasks.
• Review code and designs, guide implementation decisions, and raise engineering standards.
• Investigate customer feedback (CSAT, NPS) to identify root causes and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to balance speed, quality, and sustainability.
• Leverage AI tools responsibly throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related analytical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering production‑quality software at scale.
• Strong architectural and programming expertise with the ability to make sound technical decisions.
• Proven problem‑solving skills using structured, scientific, and creative approaches.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams, influencing technical direction, and communicating with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep commitment to software quality, including test strategy, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
