Software Engineer – Core Java Library

About the role

Join Cisco's Webex Engineering Group in Galway to develop a core shared Java library that underpins more than 90% of services across the Webex platform. You will work in an agile, hybrid environment, delivering high‑quality code that powers collaboration tools used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deliver new features for the shared Java library.
• Maintain and enhance core components such as HTTP clients, service infrastructure, data access, messaging, metrics, logging, secrets management, rate limiting, health checks, and build tooling.
• Participate in DevOps activities to ensure high availability of microservice architecture.
• Leverage AI technologies to improve team productivity and feature delivery.
• Write automated tests, investigate issues, and ensure code quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related analytical field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a data‑driven approach.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and able to learn new technologies quickly.
