Software Engineer II – Framework (Patient Care Systems)

About the role

Medtronic’s Patient Care Systems division is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Framework team. You will develop and maintain software that connects implantable cardiac devices to clinicians, enabling real‑time monitoring and data‑driven care.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for Class I, II and III medical devices following IEC 62304 and other relevant standards.
• Provide hands‑on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and code to ensure timely delivery.
• Identify and drive process‑improvement initiatives within the software team.
• Create reusable patterns and promote innovative solutions to increase team velocity.
• Collaborate across functional groups and with external partners to deliver high‑quality products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant technical experience (or an advanced degree with no experience).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
