Software Engineer – Payments & Risk Platform

About the role

Stripe is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Payments organization, focusing on building services and platforms that power payments for millions of users worldwide. You will work on APIs, in‑person payment solutions, and risk‑mitigation tools that help merchants scale their businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end software solutions across the stack.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features.
• Ensure high engineering standards and consistency across multiple codebases.
• Create elegant APIs and user experiences for merchants.
• Contribute to the architecture of Stripe’s next‑generation infrastructure.

Required profile

• 2–12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to work across the full technology stack and navigate diverse codebases.
• Comfortable delivering both user‑facing features and backend data analysis tools.
• Strong coding ability in any programming language.
• Excellent collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams.
