About the role
Join Cisco's Webex Engineering Group as a Software Engineer focused on shared components that power the majority of Webex services. Based in Galway, you will work in a hybrid model to design, develop, and maintain a core Java library used across the platform.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in full‑lifecycle development within an agile team, delivering new features and improvements.
- Lead operational aspects of a highly available microservice architecture, including DevOps practices.
- Design, implement, test, and maintain shared Java components such as HTTP clients, service infrastructure, data access, messaging, metrics, logging, secrets management, rate limiting, health checks, and build tooling.
- Leverage AI technologies to boost team productivity and accelerate feature delivery.
- Own tasks from coding to automated testing and issue investigation with strong attention to detail.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related analytical field.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems using a scientific and data‑driven approach.
- Adaptable, collaborative, and capable of communicating clearly in diverse team environments.
- Commitment to high‑quality results and continuous learning.
