Software Engineer, Web Application

About the role

Iambic Therapeutics is building a secure, cloud‑based platform for ML‑driven drug‑discovery workflows. As a Software Engineer focused on the web application, you will own and evolve the primary interface used by chemists and biologists to interact with the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a Python web application, including server‑rendered UIs (HTMX) and FastAPI route handlers.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate scientific requirements into usable interfaces and in‑product guidance.
• Keep the HTTP layer thin, delegating business logic to the service layer for reuse across entry points.
• Enforce strict authorization, access scoping, and safe error handling for sensitive scientific data.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and documentation.

Required profile

• Strong full‑stack engineering experience with production‑grade Python.
• Proven ability to build and operate SaaS‑style web applications.
• Comfort working closely with scientific users on data‑intensive problems.
• Excellent written communication and experience in distributed teams.
