Specialty Doctor – Sexual Health (Permanent)

About the role

This permanent Specialty Doctor position joins the integrated Sexual Health team in Lanarkshire. You will work 6 programmed activities per week, with occasional evening shifts, delivering comprehensive sexual health services and supporting the Trust's vision of sexual health for all.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contraception advice and services, including intrauterine techniques and subdermal implant insertion.
• Deliver sexual health assessments, testing, treatment, and follow‑up.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, medical education, and research initiatives.
• Contribute to service development through additional SPA (Specialist Programme Activity) time as agreed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support junior staff.

Required profile

• Fully registered medical doctor with at least four years post‑registration experience.
• Minimum two years experience in contraception and sexual health.
• Holder of the DFSRH (Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health).
• Possession of Letters of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT) and Subdermal Implants (LoC SDI) or commitment to obtain them on appointment.
• Willingness to work evenings and engage in additional SPA activities.
