Staff Grade Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy (Drogheda, Ireland)

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Grade Pharmacist to join a progressive acute hospital pharmacy team in Drogheda. The role offers a supportive, innovative environment with strong emphasis on patient‑centred care across a wide range of clinical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, evidence‑based pharmaceutical care to in‑patients.
• Supervise the supply, dispensing and management of medicines and pharmaceutical products.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services on wards and in specialist departments.
• Participate in medication safety initiatives, quality‑improvement projects and audits.
• Offer medicines information and advice to healthcare professionals and patients.
• Ensure compliance with PSI standards, legislation and best‑practice guidelines.
• Support procurement, stock management and medication governance activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
• Contribute to education, training and service development initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
• Strong clinical knowledge and professional practice skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational and time‑management capabilities.
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in Ireland.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using pharmacy‑related computer systems.
