Staff Nurse – Children’s Service (Dublin)

About the role

Avista is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Children’s Service in Dublin. The role focuses on delivering person‑centred, rights‑based nursing care to children with intellectual disabilities, supporting them to live fulfilling lives within the community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality nursing care to children with intellectual disabilities in day, residential and respite settings.
• Implement person‑centred planning and support integration of service users into the community.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and review care plans.
• Promote holistic wellbeing, encouraging skill development and independence.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with HIQA standards.

Required profile

• Current NMBI registration.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Proficiency in English.
• Level 1 behavioural competencies of the Avista competency framework.

Required skills

• Intellectual Disability Nurse Registration (RNID) – desirable.
• Knowledge of person‑centred planning – desirable.
• Awareness of HIQA regulations – desirable.
