Staff Nurse – Paediatric Palliative Care

About the role

Provide nursing care and support to children with life‑limiting conditions and their families in a home or community environment, in line with LauraLynn’s mission, vision and values.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to children with complex, life‑limiting and palliative needs.
• Support families emotionally and practically, ensuring a person‑centred approach.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and use information technology systems for record‑keeping.
• Work independently while adhering to organisational policies and standards.

Required profile

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Minimum 3 years post‑qualification experience in a paediatric acute or community setting (RCN) or 5 years for RGN/RNID, caring for children with complex or palliative needs.
• Degree in Nursing or currently completing a nursing degree.
• Demonstrated experience working with children with complex conditions and their families.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of information technology.
