Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its Skidded Switchgear Solutions team. You will help create modular steel structures for data centres, industrial facilities and critical infrastructure, supporting the fast‑evolving needs of AI‑driven technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design low‑ to medium‑complexity modular steel buildings, preparing 3D models, performing static and dynamic calculations, and producing workshop drawings, lifting and anchoring layouts, and specifications.
• Apply international, national and internal standards to ensure designs are safe, compliant and cost‑effective.
• Participate in project kick‑off and coordination meetings, collaborating with architectural, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and site engineers.
• Review and approve subcontractor workshop documentation and supplier offers, specifying required materials, services and certifications.
• Provide technical support during fabrication and assembly, working with site managers, quality control and commissioning engineers to resolve structural issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
