Support Pharmacist – Point of Care Pharmacy

About the role

We are seeking a Support Pharmacist to join our Point of Care Pharmacy team in Greenogue. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, 9 am‑6 pm, with a one‑hour lunch break and no night or weekend work. You will receive comprehensive training in specialised services such as total parenteral nutrition (TPN), IV antibiotics and orphan‑drug dispensing.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the dispensary in compliance with Irish pharmacy law, ethics and professional codes.
• Provide accurate information to medical, nursing and other healthcare professionals as well as patients.
• Plan and schedule pharmacy services and outpatient programmes, including cold‑chain management.
• Maintain stock control, rotation, and inventory records using approved suppliers and the company database.
• Ensure proper documentation for procurement, storage, quality control, dispensing, distribution and destruction of medical products.
• Support error‑management processes and uphold health‑and‑safety standards.
• Engage in continuous professional development to meet CPD requirements of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland and IIOP.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
• Self‑motivated, enthusiastic and able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to high ethical standards and patient‑centred care.

Required skills

• Experience or training in Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) preparation.
• Knowledge of IV antibiotic handling and administration.
• Familiarity with orphan‑drug dispensing procedures.
• Cold‑chain management and Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliance.
• Stock control and inventory management using pharmacy software.
