Tax Manager / Assistant Manager – Corporate & Personal Tax

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager or Assistant Manager to join a growing taxation team in Cork. The role combines compliance and advisory work across a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal clients, offering regular client interaction and exposure to complex tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a mixed portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, covering both compliance and advisory work.
• Advise on bespoke tax planning assignments, including succession and estate planning.
• Support clients on tax consultancy, restructuring and investment‑related matters.
• Assist with international tax assignments and overseas transactions.
• Provide VAT and general tax advisory support as required.
• Participate in Revenue audits and tax appeals, including client representation.
• Respond to ad‑hoc technical queries and conduct tax legislation research.
• Review and prepare tax returns.
• Supervise and mentor trainees and junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
• Typically 1–3 years post‑qualification experience in tax.
• Background in a mid‑tier or Big 4 accountancy practice.
• Comfortable managing client relationships and advising directly on tax matters.
• Interest in a collaborative environment with clear progression opportunities.
• Strong technical foundation coupled with a practical, commercial approach.
