Tax Manager

About the role

Our client is a well‑established three‑partner Chartered Accountancy practice in County Meath, Ireland. They are seeking a Tax Manager to join a growing, collaborative team where technical expertise will shape the firm’s tax function and client portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end personal tax compliance for individuals, directors and high‑net‑worth clients.
• Identify and deliver tax planning opportunities, including remuneration, residency, succession and corporate restructuring.
• Act as the technical lead for all Revenue interactions, handling queries, audits and disclosures via ROS.
• Conduct and review technical tax research across all Irish tax heads to provide commercially focused insights.
• Manage a diverse client portfolio, ensuring high‑quality, timely service and monitoring workflow, deadlines, WIP, billing and fee recoverability.
• Coordinate with audit, accounting and advisory teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Identify opportunities for additional advisory work and support proposals and new service development.
• Supervise, train and mentor junior staff and trainees, reviewing their work and fostering a collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Fully qualified AITI / Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) or Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a strong tax background.
• Minimum 5 + years post‑qualification experience in a dedicated tax role within practice.
• Proven track record of managing an income tax function and a diverse client portfolio.
• Demonstrated experience supervising junior staff and mentoring trainees.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Irish tax legislation across all tax heads.
• Expertise in personal tax compliance and planning, director/shareholder matters and succession planning.
• Hands‑on experience with Revenue interactions, audits, queries and ROS disclosures.
• Strong commercial acumen for workflow management, WIP and billing.
