Teacher Practitioner (0.5 FTE) – Pharmacy Education

About the role

The School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences at RCSI is seeking a part‑time Teacher Practitioner (0.5 FTE) to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. The role involves designing, developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy programmes in a multicultural academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, deliver and assess teaching in clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice, ensuring alignment with international best practice.
• Identify and deliver interprofessional learning opportunities and employ a student‑centred approach.
• Utilise technology‑enhanced learning tools to support the school’s teaching strategy.
• Liaise with community and hospital pharmacists to maintain and develop clinical teaching sites.
• Promote public and patient involvement in education and explore experiential learning options for students.
• Lead or advise on modules, coordinate integrated teaching activities, and contribute to cross‑functional programme design.
• Support quality assurance, accreditation and continuous improvement of all programmes.
• Contribute to research activities related to education and healthcare provision, including supervision of student research projects.
• Perform academic administrative duties such as attending examination boards and team meetings.
