Team Leader – Residential Services for Adults with Intellectual Disability

About the role

The Team Leader will oversee the day‑to‑day operation of residential services for adults with intellectual disability in Limerick City. This position ensures that personalised supports are delivered safely, meet regulatory standards, and evolve to meet emerging needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of the residential service, ensuring compliance with HIQA regulations.
• Develop and maintain a personalised range of residential supports for service users.
• Supervise, mentor and evaluate staff performance, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Monitor and report on service quality, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide on‑call coverage and work evenings and weekends as required.
• Assume the role of Person in Charge after three years of management experience.

Required profile

• Level 7 qualification (or higher) relevant to the sector, with appropriate professional registration.
• Minimum three years’ experience working with adults with intellectual disability.
• Strong knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage and supervise staff.
• Commitment to Personal Lifestyle Planning and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.
• Full clean driving licence and own vehicle.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and on‑call duties.
