Technical Lead – Java (Dublin)

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Technical Lead with deep Java expertise to join its File Transfer team in Dublin. You will help design, build and operate a global file‑transfer platform that underpins secure data movement across Mastercard’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, review, document and test software components to meet global engineering standards.
• Translate technical specifications into scalable, secure, and operable designs.
• Maintain high‑quality, traceable code using version control and peer‑review practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Operations to scope work, prioritize features and resolve operational issues.
• Drive delivery to ensure timely, reliable releases and support operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands‑on Java experience, especially with Spring, Spring Boot and JPA/Hibernate.
• Proficiency with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience working in globally distributed teams with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with Git (Git Flow) and agile development methodologies.
• Track record of delivering resilient, commercial‑grade software at scale.
• Understanding of distributed computing and event‑driven architectures.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, including cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
