Technical Support Engineer – Etch

About the role

As a Technical Support Engineer specializing in Etch, you will provide remote and on‑site assistance to Field Service Operations for complex equipment and wafer issues. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to diagnose problems, develop action plans, and ensure successful resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Support multiple technical escalations, focusing on rapid resolution and high‑quality outcomes.
• Attend customer field‑issue meetings with Field Service Operations and collaborate with BU engineers.
• Recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
• Publish technical lessons learned, troubleshooting guides, and engineering papers.
• Provide on‑site coaching to Field Service Operations personnel.
• Support Alpha and Beta site activities and early‑stage NPI development.
• Contribute to Design for Service/Install (DFx) projects.
• Develop or help create advanced troubleshooting tools.
• Lead small, low‑risk projects and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a technical field.
• 2–4 years of experience with semiconductor Etch hardware.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to perform root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Microsoft Office suite.
• SAP.
• VSPI.
• AR tools.
• Semiconductor Etch hardware knowledge.
