Temporary Consultant Endocrinology / Integrated Care

About the role

HSE Mid-West is seeking a temporary Consultant in Endocrinology and Integrated Care to join the multidisciplinary team at University Hospital Limerick. This short‑term appointment will support the delivery of high‑quality endocrine services and the development of integrated care pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist endocrine clinical care to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Lead and coordinate integrated care initiatives across relevant departments.
• Supervise and mentor junior doctors and trainees.
• Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with Medical Council registration requirements.

Required profile

• Medical doctor fully registered as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners.
• Qualified in General Internal Medicine (GIM) with substantial experience in endocrinology.
• Ability to work effectively in a hospital setting and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to undertake a temporary (fixed‑term) appointment.
