Trainee Service Technician – Portsmouth

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Trainee Service Technician to join our team in Portsmouth. You will support the delivery, set‑up, maintenance and collection of medical devices for patients across Portsmouth, West Sussex and Hampshire, following a comprehensive training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clean, ready‑to‑use medical devices to customer sites.
• Collect used devices and return them for decontamination.
• Perform disinfection, functional checks, repairs and electrical safety tests.
• Maintain accurate records of testing, delivery and collection.
• Manage product stock and spare‑parts inventory.
• Carry out product modifications when required.
• Provide product demonstrations and basic training to staff.
• Keep the work environment clean and tidy.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence (training on long‑wheelbase vans provided).
• Proactive, can‑do attitude with strong customer focus.
• Willingness to develop mechanical or electrical knowledge.
• Interest in medical‑device products (knowledge of Medstrom products is a plus).

Required skills

• Mechanical background or willingness to learn mechanical concepts.
• Electrical background or willingness to learn electrical concepts.
• Basic knowledge of medical‑device products.
