Transport Planner – HGV Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Transport Planner to join our team in Ballycoolin, Dublin. The role is responsible for planning daily HGV routes, allocating drivers and ensuring smooth, safe and on‑time transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily HGV routes to maximise efficiency and service levels.
• Allocate drivers to jobs based on availability, location and compliance requirements.
• Monitor drivers throughout the day and proactively resolve operational issues.
• Liaise with drivers to ensure smooth access to and exit from customer sites.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams to maintain high service standards.
• Coordinate with site operatives to ensure tanks and equipment are ready for dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with driver hours, tachograph regulations and health & safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of schedules, driver activity and transport operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or fleet operations.
• Strong understanding of HGV operations and driver compliance regulations.
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with drivers, customers and internal teams.
• Proactive, team‑oriented approach.
