Transport Planner

About the role

Musgrave is seeking a highly organized Transport Planner to join its Kilcock depot team. The role focuses on planning and coordinating transport operations across the supply chain, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods to retail outlets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise transport plans to meet delivery schedules while controlling costs.
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses and retail stores to streamline transport activities.
• Monitor shipment progress, track performance and resolve any delays.
• Analyse transport data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvement strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and produce regular transport reports.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements with transport providers.
• Ensure compliance with Irish transport regulations and company policies.
• Utilise transport management software to enhance operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in transport planning or logistics within a retail supply chain.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
