Accountant – Manufacturing & Construction (Balbriggan)

About the role

We are seeking an Accountant to join a market‑leading manufacturing company in the construction and building‑materials sector. Based fully onsite in Balbriggan, the role reports to the Head of Finance and combines strong technical accounting with commercial insight to support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts to aid strategic planning.
• Develop and maintain KPIs, driving continuous improvement across the business.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and commercial insights for senior leadership and board‑level stakeholders.
• Act as finance business partner, supporting energy‑efficiency and quality audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Review organisational structures and governance frameworks regularly.
• Identify and deliver cost‑saving initiatives through analysis and negotiation.
• Support external audit and prepare grant, funding and R&D tax credit applications.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience.
• Background in a medium‑to‑large accountancy practice, preferably with audit exposure.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction or project‑based environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical ability and confidence interpreting financial and operational data.
