About the role
The Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Nurse will join Aberdeenshire Drug & Alcohol Services to improve access to BBV screening, prevention, treatment and care for people who use drugs and alcohol. This full‑time Band 5 position supports national priorities such as the Medication Assisted Treatment standards and Scotland’s Preventing Harm, Promoting Recovery strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver BBV screening, vaccination and treatment services to clients in North Aberdeenshire.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner agencies and community providers.
- Provide education and advice on BBV prevention and risk reduction.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.
- Participate in audit, quality improvement and reporting activities.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (Band 5) with experience working with people affected by substance use.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality, recovery‑oriented care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of established teams.
